This week marks the 4th anniversary of Wartower.de, Germany’s first Guild Wars fansite! To commemorate this special event, they have created their own newspaper, the Wartower Leuchtfeuer, which includes entertaining and informative articles about Guild Wars and the community. Additionally, they have launched a competition where you can win fantastic prizes. For more details, head over to their site.

Do you fancy yourself a talented or experienced GvG player? If so, the Guild Cafe Tournament Committee wants to hear from you. Share your knowledge with other players and help guilds prepare for the next Rawr Cup.

Guild Wars Vault has posted a shiny, new Skill Spotlight on Glass Arrows. Read Declanlangfaeder’s spotlight to learn about his infatuation with this Ranger skill. While at the Vault, you can also check out their updated fan fiction section and a new desktop wallpaper.

Even if you missed GWOnline Guild’s third birthday party this past Saturday, you can still stop by the birthday forum thread to pass on your well-wishes and congratulations.

If you need more wisdom in your life, look no further than Healbot Blues. They’re dispensing Sage Advice to anyone who cares to listen. Each time you click the Sage Advice graphic, you get another, “excellent” suggestion from Healbot below the frame.

Guild Cast has posted Episode #94. The topic is Guild Wars 2, and speculation is the name of the game as the show hosts a roundtable discussion.

Guild Wars Finland, a Finnish language site, has a new home at. GWFI.ws Pay them a visit at their new domain and, of course, remember to update your bookmarks and links!

Did you miss the Canthan New Year celebration? Or, were you there but yearn to relive it? Guild Wars Guru has a Complete Guide to the 2008 Canthan New Year Event. This fantastic guide covers the new miniatures, and includes descriptions of the missions and screenshots of the festivities.

Don’t forget about the PvXwiki Guild Wars Limited contest! It’s not too late to submit your entry (a five-skill build) before the February 24 deadline.

Mousing over a skill to see its description is a fantastic feature, but it can be tricky to use on a forum thread. Have you ever wondered how contributors at Guild Wars Realm post those skill bars so neatly? Wonder no more. Stig Figger wrote a great guide on How to Post a Build with Skill Icons. Pretty soon, you’ll be posting builds on Guild Wars Realm, too!

What would you do if you only had five skills on your bar, rather than the standard eight? PvXwiki wants to know, and they’re hosting a Guild Wars Limited contest to find out. You can win extremely cool prizes, so limit yourself and see what you can accomplish.

NCRage, a new fansite that supports all NCsoft games, has gone live. To celebrate, they’re giving away lots of prizes. To receive one, submit a news post interesting enough to be published on the site, or set yourself apart from the pack with your contributions to the forum discussions. They’re giving away gear, games, and other goodies.

The Russian-language fansite, GWSkills.Net, is proud to unveil a new build creator. They invite you to use their tools (in Russian only) to experiment with new and exciting builds.

The Rohar’s Roughnecks Character Progress Tracker has received several improvements recently. You have new options for viewing your character’s statistics, additional background colors to make viewing large tables easier, and an improved ability to track a variety of accomplishments—including birthday presents. They also maintain a list of updates for your convenience.

The GWOnline Community Guild will be celebrating their third birthday on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 8:00 AM Pacific time (-8 GMT). Stop by the Henge of Denravi and wish this long-time guild, “Happy birthday!” Or, if that’s a shade too early in the morning for you folks on the West Coast of the United States, stop by the forum thread and share your well wishes there.

France Guild Wars announced a change of address. They’ve packed up their guides, forums, and databases and moved to new digs at Guild Wars Univers Virtuels. If you’re in the neighborhood, they’d love for you stop by and visit. If you have any links to France Guild Wars in your bookmarks or on your site, please update them now.

This past December, Guild Cafe and Rebel Rising [rawr] coordinated the Rawr Cup Tournament. The event was a huge success, so they’re going to do it all over again—only better! The newly formed Guild Cafe Tournament Committee represents many guilds and many styles of play. The committee will discuss ideas about tournament mechanics, prizes, and map rotations. Sound good to you? Then maybe you should apply to join the committee!

This week’s Skill Spotlight at Guild Wars Vault gets right to the point with Needling Shot. Consider this frequently overlooked skill for your spike-damage builds.

Speaking of builds, SabreWolf of Guild Wars Realm has posted a Monk/Dervish version of the classic 55-Monk. If you’re experimenting with effective farming builds, give this one a try.

Guild Wars Guru has added data from Eye of the North to Sjeng’s Collector Finder. Now you’ll find information from Eye of the North as well as the three campaigns. Not familiar with this nifty tool? Then it’s time you had a look. The Collector Finder helps you locate specific collectors and gives you tips for acquiring the items you’ll need to trade. It even includes maps!

Guild Wars Vault has added fresh content. Head over there and browse the new images in their Player Screenshot Gallery. While you’re there, take a peek at the skill write-up for Seeking Arrows and the thrilling new chapters in the fan fiction library.

Over at the Presearing Community, things are heating up with Pre-Searing’s Next Top Model (third cycle). You have chosen the finalists, but the game isn’t over yet! Visit the forums to cheer on your favorite contestant.

One of the most popular features at Guild Wars Guru is the Auction system. To help new users feel comfortable jumping in and using the auction tools, Guru Moderator Wynthyst has written a Common Sense Guide to Successful Auctioning on GWG Auctions. This guide not only lists the steps involved in participating, but offers tips on making it a great experience for everyone involved.

Guild Wars Vault has new community-updated content for you to peruse. You’ll find fresh postings in their Collector’s List and Player Screenshots. There are also brand new Skill Spotlights that detail Power Shot, Ash Blast and Armor of Earth.

Wintersday might be over, but it lives on in our hearts… and in the Wintersday Calendar. If you haven’t seen the calendar’s 24 pieces of fan-submitted artwork, do yourself a favor and check them out before winter melts away.

Guild Cast returns with the first show of 2008. Episode #91 features Guild Wars-themed Jeopardy over voice-chat. Have a hard time imagining it? Then you’ll just have to listen!

Guild Wars Realm has some new builds posted, including SabreWolf’s Spirit’s Bow Caster PvP Remix, a Ritualist/Ranger build that focuses on fast, high damage.

Guild Wars.info have now introduced an Auction House to their Website. So if you are looking for special items, or want to sell your hard earned loot – this is the place for you.

Tuesday 15 January, 2008 Tournament Winners: Please Note

We have not yet received release forms from a number of December ATS winners. If you won a prize, you must send in a Declaration of Eligibility and Liability Release form (or an email informing us that we already have your forms on file) before we can award your prize. GvG prizes will be distributed based on a list submitted to us by the guild leader designating eight guild members as prize recipients. If you have a form to submit, need another copy of the form, or have any questions or concerns, please write to tournaments@arena.net and we will assist you. We have extended the final date to receive all forms, but we must receive signed forms by 20:00 GMT on Monday, January 21, to avoid forfeiture of prizes.

Recently, Guild Wars PT hosted a live, 1-versus-1 tournament during XL Party, an event in Lisbon, Portugal. Congratulations to the organizers for a successful tourney, and to Doute Caforcatres for winning. You can read more about the event (with pictures) here.

Please welcome GuildWiki.de to the official fansite roster. This specialty, German-language site is actively updated and has a huge collection of information.

Photics has brought their forums back online and they look forward to seeing lots of community involvement. They have also updated their comic, Lost in Ascalon. And, if that’s not enough, the site offers a brand new, fully-featured blogging tool players can use to write about their gaming experiences.

The Healbot Blues continuing storyline is winding down, although the artist plans to keep the conclusion open-ended for further adventures and special features. You can visit the artist’s blog for news and the latest art. Old comics will remain archived for your enjoyment. Thank you, Healbot, for all of the laughs. Here’s to more in the future!

Wintersday cheer abounds at Guild Wars Holland. They’re hosting a wallpaper contest, so get artistic! Prizes include gold, mini-pets, and other holiday treats. Read here for the rules in English, or here for the rules in Dutch. Good luck!

We just can’t give enough love to the Guild WarsWintersday Calendar. Each day between December 1 and Wintersday features a new piece of original Guild Wars fan art.

It’s snowing at Guild Wars Brazil! Visit this Portuguese-language site to enjoy their seasonal decorations. You can even contribute to the holiday cheer in the chat box on the main page.

Guild Wars Realm has two new builds submitted by Sabrewolf. First, there’s the Way of the Sword/Axe build, which combines Warrior and Assassin skills to create a high-damage, melee machine that dishes out critical hits. Second, there’s the Diseased Blood build for Necromancers, bringing a mix of high degeneration and Energy gain.

Guild Wars Vault is always a great place for community content, and their gallery of player screenshots is no exception. Browse the selections and then submit your own. But, don’t forget Wintersday! The Vault has wintery wallpaper up for grabs as well.
