  • Gaming World Events is hosting their very first Guild Wars in-game event this weekend, and it’s for a great cause!  “Gamers Giving Back to Haiti” will help raise money for the Canadian Red Cross and their relief efforts in Haiti. This six-hour event runs on Sunday, February 7 from 12:00—6:00 CST in Lion’s Arch International District 1. On top of all the in-game prizes they’ll be giving away, the Gaming World Events team will raffle off 10 copies of “The Art of Guild Wars 2” hardback books and a bunch of signed Guild Wars 2 art postcards, donated by ArenaNet.  The goal is to reach $1337, because after all, we’re gamers, right?  Guild Wars Community Manager Regina Buenaobra will stop by to support the Gaming World Events crew.   • Celebrate Canthan New Year with the “Eye of the Tiger” event, brought to you by M A L I B U Barbie, Anolie Midknight, Daniel Frozenwind, and DJ Popcorn. Join them for an in-game celebration of Canthan New Year and the upcoming Year of the Tiger! They’ll have lots of in-game prizes and other cool stuff to give away.   • We’re always on the lookout for new Guild Wars blogs, and this one hit our inboxes via Twitter. Guild Wars Bard, written by Laird (@HexDSL), features tutorials, commentary, and discussions about the game and community.  Laird, an experienced podcaster, currently brings listeners the 404 Radio podcast and the One True Cast podcast, and plans to expand to podcasting about Guild Wars 2 in the future.

  • GWTactics is dead—long live GWcom.de! The team behind GW Tactics just completed a full revamp, and now they’re back with a shiny new web presence, complete with a new name—GWcom.de.  Welcome back, gang!

  • Guild Wars: Conquest, the fun, fan-made game brought to you by GuildWars.us, is back! GuildWars.us (formerly Photics.com) has re-launched their free text and image-based game, inspired by Guild Wars lore.  The re-launched game is sporting a new engine, PvP fighting, monsters, fishing, arcade games, quests, and more. Guild Wars: Conquest can be played on the web or from an Android phone—check it out!

  • Remember:  You can get your very own Guild Wars themed blog through the GuildWars.us fan site! There’s a new theme for GuildWars.us blog owners, and your blog has the chance to be featured on the GuildWars.us blog network!

  • Healbot Blues has reached incredible milestone! To celebrate over 1 million views at the Healbot Blues Gallery, they’ve updated with a brand new comic!

  • Come on out for Jingle Jangle ‘09, a festive event sponsored by Blade Radio. The fun starts on December 21st and ends on January 2nd.   • The Lady Patrisha MacFarlane, Callisean Ambassador to Kryta, will once again reprise her role as The Winter Lady, traveling the nations of Tyria on a gift-giving tour of goodwill. During these cold winter nights, the Lady Patrisha will give away many gifts of value to the citizens of Ascalon, Kryta, Cantha, and Elona. All the Winter Lady’s gifts are free, of course, and are intended to favor the new, young, and less fortunate heroes of our lands.  But don’t worry; gifts will be available for veterans as well! The tour stats in Ascalon City, American District 4 on December 26th at 6:00pm PST, and visits Lion’s Arch, Shing Jea Monastery, and Kamadan on December 28th, 29th, and 30th, all in American District 4, at 6:00pm PST. The tour comes full circle in a grand finale taking place in Ascalon City, American District 4 on December 31st at 5:00pm PST. This is the fifth Wintersday season that the gift giveaway has taken place, and Lady Patrisha is sure that this year will be the best yet!

  • Tzu is hosting an ongoing Wintersday art workshop on Guild Wars Guru! The goal of this friendly workshop is to give and receive constructive criticism, foster community spirit, and have a lot of fun in the process. To join Tzu’s art workshop, participate in the thread on the forums!

  • Photics.com is now GuildWars.us! But that’s not all—they’re offering an awesome new feature: free Guild Wars blogs for everyone! That’s right! You can create your very own Guild Wars themed blog on GuildWars.us! They’re continuing to accept volunteers to write features and other blog content, so if you’re interested, head on over to their site for more info.

  • The days are getting shorter, the temperature is falling, and Christmas decorations are visible nearly everywhere. To celebrate the spirit of the season, Wartower.de will once again host their Advent Calendar. Starting on December 1st, the Wartower Team will open one of the 24 windows in the calendar each day for exactly 20 minutes (between 5:00pm and 9:00pm CET).   • The Order of the Phoenix Alliance and Countess Reapera invite every Guild Wars player in the known universe to their Soiree at the Sanctum, a huge autumn bash in the Imperial Sanctum International Districts. This party, which celebrates autumn and the anniversary of the Phoenix Alliance’s founding, begins on November 14th at 6PM EST! The Countess and the Alliance are serving free refreshments and are hosting costume contests, scavenger hunts, and other tests of wit and ability throughout the evening!  Join them for the Soiree at the Sanctum!

    • Photics offers two great creative features this month. ”Guild Wars: High Ground” is a work of fan fiction that is now available online and for Android phones! In this interactive tale you choose skills to progress the epic story, which features cameo appearances by popular Guild Wars characters, vividly described battles, drama, and an internet meme!     • Issue #35 of the Photics e-zine is jam-packed with Guild Wars goodness, including fan art, poetry, and opinion pieces. This issue contains “The Moa,” a parody of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” that talks about the wait for Guild Wars 2. This issue also includes an interesting piece that discusses game marketing and how the industry has changed since Guild Wars was first released. Read on!

    • Mad Queen Malafide and Daniel Frozenwind are at it again! With support from the SCAR Alliance, Blade Radio, and many generous individuals, they’re bringing you The King and Queen’s Horrorween, a Halloween event not to be missed!     • Photics.com will launch their brand new Guild Wars Fansite e-magazine soon, and are now accepting submissions for their Autumnal Equinox Edition.  Are you an artist?     • Order of the Phoenix Alliance invites you to “An Evening Under the Stars”!
