  • The Photics folding@home team, which is made up of mostly Guild Wars players, is nearing the 3,000 mark. The team is in the top 2.2% of all folding teams. The folding@home team number is 60254. Other Guild Wars players are invited to join the team. By using your computer’s down time, you can help scientific researchers better understand protein folding, which may help lead to cures for deadly diseases.   • Healbot Comics have rebuilt and revamped their website and galleries.

  • Guild Wars Vault has published a guide to the Mehtani Keys for players who are finding themselves a little short on coin.

  • MMO Fury announced the winner of their contest, “The Top 5 Reasons You Play Guild Wars.”

  • Blade Radio is hosting two events this October. The first is an interview with Yt Cracker on October 4. They will also be hosting Nights of the Minipets from October 30 to November 1, during which they will give away over 300+ Miniatures. A complete list of Miniatures available during this event will be available from Blade Radio.

  • The LaZy Nation Alliance will host their Oktoberfest 2008 event on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 4:00 PM EST. Join LaZy for in-game festivities including drinking, quizzes, a costume contest, and other activities, where you can compete for in-game prizes. A member of the Presearing Community, Silhouette Eyes, is hosting the “Survivor: Pre-Searing” competition. This is your chance to outwit, outplay, and outlast the rest. Get placed on a tribe, compete in weekly photo challenges, win weekly prizes, plus have a shot at winning the grand prize and the title of Soul Survivor! The competition promises jaw-dropping twists and shocking surprises to keep you on your toes the entire time. Applications are open from June 24 to August 5. Guild Wars Vault has recently published an editorial comparing Guild Wars to subscription-based MMOGs.

Guild Wars Vault casts some love on six skills this week with a guide to Healing Minions. Declanangfaeder covers a mix of Necromancer and Monk skills that can help keep your hard-won minions alive...er, undead.

GWOnline.net is hosting another art contest! In the Create-A-Dress contest, the challenge is to design outfits for two characters. Lots of in-game prizes are up for grabs, so let your inner fashionista go wild.

If you are looking for a new build to play, don’t be afraid to try out the Necromancer/Warrior Meleemancer build posted at Guild Wars Realm. This “squishy but threatening” build is designed for mayhem in the Random Arenas. For those wanting to try something new with their Ritualists, take a look at the Anti-Blocking Ritualist build for GvG battles.

And don’t forget about the Draw a Staffer Contest at Guild Wars @ GameAmp. You still have time to perfect your artistic renderings of various members of the site’s staff.

It’s almost spring, but this week, Guild Wars Vault is covering the Ranger skill Winter. Learn how to use this skill in combination with others. Also at Guild Wars Vault, TorgasPrim returns with a Candid Conversation with Morina Duathi.

Get out your crayons, it’s another art contest! Guild Wars @ Game Amp wants you to participate in its Draw a Staffer Contest. The organizers encourage people of all skill levels to submit entries. The contest runs until April 10, so get scribbling.

Don’t forget about MesCon, the party to celebrate all things Mesmer-izing. The festivities get rolling this Saturday in the Henge of Denravi.

It is with great regret that we bid farewell to Guild Cast this week. The final episode, which touches on the history of the popular podcast, is available for download now. We wish the Guild Cast team the best in all of their future projects and hope to see them again soon! (Say, as info starts getting released about Guild Wars 2, perhaps?)
