The Championship
On Thursday 24th August 2006, swords will clash and magic will scorch the skies as the semi finals of the Guild Wars Factions World Championship commence. Six guilds have travelled to Leipzig in Germany and will be battling it out for three long days, to decide who will walk away with a place in history and a share of $100,000 in prize money.
Early this year the first ever Guild Wars World Championship was held in Taiwan, with Korean Guild The Last Pride (EvIL) winning first place against War Machine (WM) in an epic final match.
Both guilds are back this year along with two from Europe and two from America, all six of them eager to emerge as the victor. Will The Last Pride manage to defend their crown? Will War Machine get revenge against their rivals? Or will Europe or America stand tall as the winners of the prestigious title of Guild Wars World Champions?

Games Convention Leipzig
Games Convention Leipzig is a five day consumer gaming show which welcomes over 125,000 gamers into its halls each August, a perfect place to hold the Guild Wars World Championships.
We will be updating live from the show floor at Games Convention Leipzig throughout the rest of the week, so be sure to stay tuned to http://eu.guildwars.com for exciting Guild Wars World Championship bulletins, and live coverage of Guild Wars presence at Games Convention 2006.
Throughout Games convention we will be adding updates to the official EU Guild Wars website and forums, we will also regularly be updating the official NCsoft Europe Flickr account with new photos.
